BESPOKE TRIPS FOR FAMILIES
At Community Action Treks we maintain the philosophy that we should stay close to the people who trek with us and offer them as much of a personalised service as we can.
In order to do this we restrict the number of trekking groups we take each year, which allows us to offer a level of service and advice to customers which is not possible for larger trekking companies.
This is particularly important when it comes to families who want to embark on a trip of a lifetime but want to be sure that their children in particular are going to be safe – without detracting from the challenge which a trek provides

RISK ASSESSMENT
All of our risk assessment strategy which applies to schools also applies to families. We have experience of trekking with children of all ages. All of our guides and porters are very family oriented and like nothing better than to teach parents and children about their country, their culture and way of life.
TREK SELECTION
Our approach is to discuss the expedition aspirations with parents and design with them the trek length and degree of difficulty, taking into account the abilities of different members of their family. We are happy to adapt our treks, wherever we can, to suit and will advise on the best destinations so that children of different ages are able to make the most of their experience.
SIZE OF GROUP
Camping treks can be arranged for groups of 4 or more but we can advise on tea house treks for any number of participants. Some treks are accessible by pony which is an advantage for children who would prefer not to walk for 6 or 7 hours each day.
